The 18 Hours Teacher Book Club ran in 2021 with teachers from schools in East Sussex and in 2022 will run with Teachers in Brighton and Hove.
The Teacher Book Club develops teacher knowledge, practice and confidence in exploring diverse voices in books for use in the classroom.
Teachers will receive a book in the post each month in advance of a monthly online Zoom meeting to discuss the text.
The books will be contemporary, high quality, diverse books to use in the classroom by British Authors of Colour and will challenge stereotypes and ensure children have access to diverse representations of people in the classroom.
Where possible teachers will read the book with their class and feedback observations, discussions and reflections at the Book Club meetings.
